Underbelly is an Australian television true crime-drama which originally broadcast on the Nine Network. Each series contains 13 episodes and is based on real-life events.

The first series was about the Melbourne gangland killings between 1995-2004 and the second series about the Griffith drug trade between 1976-1987. Series three shows the Kings Cross scene between 1988-1999.

The first series is based on the book ' Leadbelly: Inside Australia's Underworld' , by The Age journalists John Silvester and Andrew Rule.

The first Underbelly started with a huge audience only for the second series to smash all Australian broadcasting records by being the most watched show nationwide. As the third series kicks off with filming we have possible the best views to see how the series will come together.

The shows location is set in Kings Cross during the 1980's with our neighbours being chosen as the ideal location for the film crew and cast to commence their set's.

With the new third series expecting to be even bigger than its predecessors we are already seeing a flurry of people flocking to Kings Cross to have a sneak peek at what goes on behind the scene's and how it is all put together.

With Backpackers arriving and having seen the show aired in the USA and UK too, they are all shocked to see just how close you can get to all the action. Who know's.....maybe this could be your 30 seconds of fame as a passerby? You could be the one saying "I backpacked around Australia and was in possibly one of the biggest show's to ever come out of the country."
