The Funkhouse Backpackers Hostel in Sydney is the most centrally located hostel. We are just a 1 minute walk to Kings Cross cityrail train station and bus stops, which make it easy to get to other famous attractions such as must-see Bondi Beach and it's Coastal Walks, the relaxed suburb Manly, Olympic Park and the beautifully located Taronga Park ZOO. With Sydney's award winning public transport system, you get to the city centre in under 4 minutes!

From the Airport
We organise a shuttle bus for you. Please call us on 1800 247 600 (toll free) when you arrive at the domestic or international airport, so we can arrange a pick up right away.
The shuttle bus is FREE for guest staying 7 nights or longer, you pay $3 if you stay 3-6 nights and $12 if you've booked for 1 or 2 night.
The shuttle bus (pickup from airport) operates between 5:30am and 8.30pm. If you arrive before the reception opens, you can call the shuttle company directly on (02) 9661 1170 and arrange a pick up with them. If you arrive after 8.30pm you will need to arrange your own transport. There are some airport shuttle buses operating until 12am, they charge $12 per person. Alternatively, you can take the train for $15 (stops very close to the hostel!).
Of course we can also help you arrange a drop off at the airport when you leave us ($12, drop off from 4:45am to 7:10pm).

From the Train/Bus Station
From Central Station, take the train (platform 24) to KINGS CROSS (only 7 minutes). Take the Darlinghurt Road exit and turn left out of the train station. We're only 50 meters away, so walk along Darlinghurst Road until you see a cafe/restaurant called 'The Sugermill'. From there, take the second street on the left.
Can I park my car at the hostel?
Unfortunately, we do not have a car park to offer our guests. There is, however, a public security car park located on a 2 minutes walk away from the hostel.
